Spring!
Love and Peace
In a Cherry Blossom Reverie.
By Yukiko Hayata,
former IEP student and UCA graduate.
Konnichiwa!!!!
Finally, the spring is here in Japan! I see so many beautiful cherry
blossom trees around my house. In a Japanese tradition, people have a party
under the cherry blossom tree during spring, and it is called Ohamani. I don't
know if I will go to Ohanami this year because I've been very busy with my
job. I think I will take lots of photos during spring.
I decided to work at night at my hotel in April until I quit. I was looking
for an another job, but I thought it will be better to work at a same place
at different times. I usually work at 11:00am to 2:00pm or 3:00pm, but I
will be working at night in addition to it. I will quit working sometime in
July or August and will be back to Arkansas after that.
My high school band will have an annual concert on March 26th. I went to
see some rehearsals, but they are not ready....... I really hope they will
do a great job on Tuesday.
It's too bad not to be in Japan during spring!!!!! I say this because I
LOVE spring, especially Japanese cherry blossom trees. I wish I could have
a big party under the cherry blossom trees with my friends and families on
my E-mail list. You can also see cherry blossom trees at Washington D.C. if
you can't come to Japan!? I don't know if you can see cherry blossom trees
in Europe. If so, please let me know because someday, I will go to see them
in Europe! (Yes, I had seen cherry blossom trees in Washington D.C. while I
was in the US.)
Have you paid any attention to Japanese politics and economic? Have you
heard about Japanese prime minister, Junichiro Koizumi? I thought he will
change Japan when he became a prime minister last year, but it hasn't
happened. I really hope things will change in Japan soon, especially
economic.
I don't have much time in here, so I will write you more later. Thank you
for sending me messages! I love you and I miss you very much!
Love and Peace.
