NOTE FROM MRS. BOWLES: The authors are from Level One Writing class, Instructor Julie Gallagher.

Coming from different countries where we speak various languages, it was a little hard for us to write well in English. We were all worried about how we were going to improve our English skills so that people could understand our writing. We’ve been pleased with our progress in our writing class. Our teacher, Mrs. Gallagher, said that we have greatly improved in our daily writing assignment.

The Level One Writing class helped us to improve our English. It’s a class where we have a lot of homework, mainly writing stories about our experiences. It’s great because we write about all kinds of subjects: world travels, culture, personal letters, etc. Another impressive thing is that sometimes we do some grammar exercises with time clauses, prepositions, past tense, etc. We then use these exercises to improve our compositions.

We recommend the IEP classes to other international students who want to improve their skills in English. We have learned many things this last semester and we are looking forward to Level Two.
