Newsflash!
Congratulations to Savita Malshe for moving our Discussion Thread into new and interesting territory. Savita responded not only to Sarah's question regarding class participation techniques, but also to Rachel's answer to Sarah's question. Now we are developing an on-going discussion about getting students involved and participating in class.
I've also responded to Savita's response — and awarded her a couple of B O N U S P O I N T S ! You'll notice in my response that I've asked you to consider some important points for further discussion.
My students, I encourage each of you to continue Sarah's thread — or build upon another one of special interest to you. This is how we craft meaningful discussion threads and raise awareness about solutions to important classroom issues.
Also, thanks to the "J Sharps" for their delightful, organized, informative presentation and modeling of information from Chapter Four. They have agreed to share their PowerPoint with us in the Reading Room. Thanks, Jamie, Jennifer, and Jessica!
Everyone has submitted something on Chalk and Wire now, but some of the submissions are missing the attached word.doc. I will begin assessing your work this week. If your portfolio does not include the required attached document, I will send you an E-mail.
Next week (October 15-19) you will submit your alternative assessments with rubrics. I hope this form of assessment helps you internalize the information from the first three chapters and gives you some valuable practice in creating a rubric. We will gather in family groups to share your projects with your peers. Each group will choose a "Best of..." to present to the class at the end of the period.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates from Planet Gnosis and CMC!
