well there's a whole lot of logs from out east to Arkansas, and on their way down the keen's cut em' all out of those grand ships and southward we rolled and your summers are hot and your winters are cold
into the flatlands by your big brown rivers we'll meet the locals and we'll marry their sisters hundred years later find your strength in my blood rush this world like an unexpected flood
we saw our daddies work with their hands, they sent us to school so we would understand, plowing is noble, the saying is old but your summers are hot and your winters are cold,
my mother my father they made me who I am taught me to talk and to act like a man to have faith and to try the best that I can and to never ask more from any across this land
It's always from a seed that the white oak grows, just needs what it needs to let you know like a migrant off the grand ship trying to find his home we're all sharing this moment, we're all led to roam

Who am I?
A good question indeed
I hunt, hike, and fish
But there must be more to me
I trudged through school
Not a model student
But now I'll be teacher
So I must be prudent
I'll teach history
And show students the map
Hopefully contrary to me
My students won't give their teacher crap
