To Create Something Amazing
I chose the image of a stained glass window to represent my ideas of multicultural education. Other than the obvious connection to my name, I chose this because the stained glass acts as a metaphor for multiculturalism. Each pane of glass is different and seemingly ordinary, yet when placed side-by-side, they create something amazing.
I think we live in a society where some of the most vibrant "panes of glass" are often stifled and encouraged to become more like the dominant culture. This arrangement, seen in stained glass, leaves something to be desired. If more people embraced differences, rather than shunned them, we would all benefit from something truly inspirational.
